DUPONT PERFORMANCE ELASTOMERS OPENS NEW CHINA ENTITY

Geneva – 6 November 2006 - DuPont Performance Elastomers (DPE) has announced the opening of its new business entity in China - DuPont Performance Elastomers Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. The move, which follows the inauguration of the company’s state-of-the-art Research and Development Center in Shanghai in 2005, underlines DPE’s commitment to supporting customers in the important China market. “China is a growing market for DPE’s high performance elastomers and sealing solutions. As the technology leader in specialty elastomers we are committed to providing full-service support to our customers locally and around the world. Establishing the Chinese business entity and investment in the new R&D Center are demonstration of our commitment to help customers grow in the region,” said Francine C. Shaw, DPE President and CEO, speaking at the Center’s opening ceremony and customer seminar. As with the company’s other laboratories in the US, Europe and Japan, the Shanghai R&D facility is set up with equipment for running trials and simulating conditions of use. The company offers training and technical support tailored to meet specific customer needs. The facility also has compounding, processing and property testing capabilities.
