K 2007 - Düsseldorf, Germany, October 24-31, 2007 NEW POLYOLEFIN PROCESSING AIDS HEADLINE
At K 2007, DuPont Performance Elastomers (DPE) will announce the launch of Viton ® FreeFlow ™ Z110 and Z210 process aids for polyolefins - two important additions to the company’s proprietary Z Technology ™ products for plastics masterbatchers and producers of extruded sheet, films and other thin-walled structures - and will celebrate the 50 th anniversary of the commercialization of Viton ®, which led to the creation of the fluoroelastomers industry. In addition, DPE will showcase Hypalon ® chlorosulfonated polyethylene, Neoprene polychloroprene, and Vertex ™ seal technology. Viton® FreeFlow™ Z110 and Z210 process aids will complement the successful Z100 and Z200 products by eliminating melt fracture, and by reducing extrusion pressure, amperage, torque and die build up in moderate mixing situations including solution LLDPE, masterbatches with over 2 per cent process aid, blown film using 1 to 3 MI LLDPE, and extrusion under low shear conditions. Since the introduction of Viton® A into the aerospace industry in 1957, the world’s first fluoroelastomer has evolved into many different types for aggressive fluid sealing and containment in the automotive industry, in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food processing, and in construction. At K 2007, DPE will feature recent extensions to the broadest line of fluoroelastomers, including FDA-compliant types, and discuss pioneering work in overmolding fluoroelastomers onto plastics. Also on show, DPE’s Hypalo® chlorosulfonated polyethylene continues as the material of choice for flexible geomembrane liners and covers for raw and potable water storage, as exemplified by the recently commissioned Forest Lake Reservoir in California, USA, and in automotive, wire and cable, inflatable boat and single ply roofing applications. Neoprene polychloroprene and Vertex ™ seal technology, an innovative Cure-In-Place-Gasket system, will complete the company’s K 2007 line-up.
